Toyota Wigo in Philippines

The Daihatsu designed Toyota Wigo, has been rebranded several times and is also known by the names Agya, Daihatsu Ayla and Perodua Axia in other Asia-Pacific Countries. The vehicle presents a highly attractive compact hatchback design, with its highly efficient engines providing a decent fuel economy. The Wigo made its debut in the Indonesian market, when it was presented as an entrant for the LCGC segment initiated by the government. To compete with the likes of Suzuki Celerio, Honda Brio and Mitsubishi Mirage, Toyota Motors have designed a vehicle that features a compact size and a 1.0-litre DOHC engine that delivers a decent amount of power with an amazing fuel economy.

The Wigo is offered in a choice of a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic transmission. Its 12-Valve 3-Cylinder engine churns out 65 ps of power @ 6000 rpm with a maximum torque of 85 Nm @ 3600 rpm. Coming to the vehicle’s design, it certainly looks much more refreshing than the Suzuki Celerio with several lines that add to the vehicle’s style and aerodynamics. The front is also pretty stunning with black grille with chrome accents, some interesting looking headlamps and fog lamp housing. Available a choice of 6 metallic colours, the Wigo’s interiors are also much more upmarket than its competitors with a crazy looking centre console with a navigation enabled display and infotainment system.
